Lazy Beauty Tips Lipstick Challenge Roundup #2

About a month ago I made a post about the lipstick challenge I'm doing. (you can find it here) Basically the idea is to wear all your lipsticks (one a day) and document it on social media. The one problem is that I have a lot of lipstick. Because of that, and various stuff going on in my life, this challenge is taking f o r e v e r. Before my plan was to do weekly roundups, but I've been wearing lipstick so infrequently, or rewearing ones I've already used for the challenge, that it hasn't seemed worth it to post them here. So I guess I'm just going to post these on no particular schedule?

But anyways, here's roundup two! 45 down, 11 to go!

Review: Kat Von D Studded Kiss Lipstick in Poe

When I saw this lipstick, I knew I had to have it. Sadly when I went to go get it, it was sold out. And that kept happening, again and again. I usually don't talk to Sephora employees, but this time I figured it was worth it. So I ended up getting on the waiting list, and last week I got the call and me and my girlfriend headed out to the mall.

(beginning of the day! aka bus #1)

I got around to trying it today and I'm smitten. The colour is so deep and pigmented. The smell is similar to MAC lipsticks with a sort of vanilla smell that's noticeable when you first put it on, but goes away within half an hour or so. The only real problem with it is that it a tiny bit drying. It's not a real problem at first, especially with a lip balm underneath, throughout the day it gets a fair bit drier. I feel like the dryness is par for the course with darker shades though.

(side note: chestnut praline lattes are the bomb)

It's fairly long wearing, I touched it up after eating and drinking, because it did come off a bit. It's been about ten hours, and when I asked my mom how my lipstick looked she said "fine" (she's not a fan of the dark lip look) It's a little hard to apply, if only because the darkness of the colour requires a fair amount of precision. Next time I think I'd use a lip brush, and maybe a liner too.

(end of the day! aka bus #3)

Overall I love this lipstick, it's smooth, it's super wearable as far as non standard colours go, and it's super pigmented. I'd give this lipstick a 9/10!

October Favourites 2014

Stormbird Cafe Handmade Soaps: I have been waiting so long to get my hands on these, and finally, at the end of September they went on limited sale. They all smell heavenly and they're really moisturizing. Not to mention how fall-ish all these warm coffeehouse scents are.

MAC Lipsticks in Cyber and Media: Everyone's been rocking the vampy lip trend, and I'm no exception. I've been trying to keep up with the LBT Lipstick Challenge but it's hard because I want to wear these every day.

Figs & Rouge Hand Cream in Mango Mandarin: I got this in my October ipsy bag and I think it's one of my favourite things I've gotten so far. I love fruity scents and the packaging is so adorable and bright. It's great to keep in my purse to keep my skin from succumbing to it's usual terrible fall/winter dryness.

Jersey Shore Sun Mongongo Nutrient Dense Anti-Aging Lip Conditioner in Mango Green Orange Ginger: The name is a bit of mouthful, but it smells great and it's super hydrating. I got this in my September ipsy bag, but only really started using it this month when I lost my usual lip balm.

elf Eyelid Primer: Okay so this one barely counts because I bought it on the 30th but I just wanted to give it an honourable mention because wow! It was $2 at Target and it works like a charm. I'm honestly so impressed with it. I was considering going and buying more Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer Potion, but I think I'm going to stick with this one for a while.
